  • Road Test: Clogged Stock CAT Vs. Unclogged CATCO CAT

So I bolted up my high-flow CATCO catalytic converter to my RX-7 today. WOW was my stock cat clogged! I looked in it and it was broken up some, clogging most if not all of the "exit". I also gutted my pre-cats yesterday.

Well with the gutted pre-cats and the new unclogged high-flow cat all I can say is, HOLY SHIT!!!!!! This car feels SO much faster. The exhaust tone is very deep and mellow. I love it. I'm surprised my pacesetter exhaust doesn't make my 1.3L of fury sound like a weed wacker. Instead it sounds like a nice deep Rotary.

WOW, what a difference an unclogged cat makes. and I higher flowing one at that

This is the 3rd CATCO cat I have owned and wont be the last. I am VERY happy with them.

Do you two tell each other the moment you post something, so that you can be the first person to reply to it? Just ribbing you

My mods have been few and far between lately, so I haven't been keeping up with what parts are available. But, what's a good price for one of those bad-boys, and where do you get them?

I'd asked the same thing.

                      About $100 shipped.

One of my friends has a hi-flow on his '86, that actually replaces those pre-cats as well. He also claimed a very nice gain with it.
