Based on a Fox body mustang... only it's not So yes, potential it has

Looking to run a 4.2l V6 from an F-150 with maybe a 75 shot for now... Upgrade heads and cam and intake come the following year after of course a paint job and some suspension and wheels... then looking at a 4.3l stroker bottom end with maybe some low compression for some boosty goodness in the coming years. This is one car i won't feel bad about sinking some money into cause it's a classic and it's rear wheel drive

So as you see andy, if i don't sell that nitrous it will just go on this haha

I assume with the stock 4.2l, 210hp and a 75 shot it should be comparable with the tracer in the 1/4 besides the fact i won't be able to launch it due to the factory 7.5" rear... but when i break it, i'll upgrade

I really can't wait to get this thing up here and start looking it over. Supposedly has 85K original miles... but like most fox bodies the floor boards are probably gone. Some minor surface rust but i'd like to get it all fixed and get some black primer on the whole car

Some may say i have mercury fever... (whistles Alan Jackson's cover of Mercury Blues)

You have wagon fever, not Mercury fever. You're just picking fomoco stuff cause you know it the best.

                      Ever look up the 4.2? 210hp stock, 25 less than a 5.0? 265 ftlbs... 45 less than a 5.0?

I would do a v8 just for the throaty exhaust i would get out of it because frankly these motors sound like pussy motors but everyone does a v8... I can keep my motor mounts and even that shitty aod if i REALLY wanted to with the 4.2 lol

When someone pops the hood and they see a 6 cylinder they'll be more surprised than the typical 5.0... i was actually thinking about a 4.6 4v Mach 1 motor but they are harder to find and WAY expensive to upgrade... all of them modulars are. $800+ for just cams... on par with a KL!!

The 5.0 is a stout motor and can make power, but so can the 4.2

Except there isn't nearly the same amount of aftermarket support for the 4.2L as there is the 5.0L V8. Why be different when you don't have to be?
