Pretty much a copy and past of the AD that I'm running on craigslist.. ya'll aught to know these things about the car already, but most normal folks dont
I have a black on grey leather (red pin striping) 1990 Ford Probe GT for sale, the $300 is a firm price, I just don't currently feel like ripping apart the engine and selling the parts to get the $300 that its worth (and then some).. its a good turbo, good transmission, and a good engine. As well as a functional factory 3-way adjustable suspension, glass, ect.
It is a 2.2ltr I-4 Turbo engine with 145 WHP (wheel horsepower) and 195lb-ft torque. Transmission is a 5-speed stick.
Currently it is all factory spec, with no upgrades done to the engine or drive train.
I originally bought this car as a fix-r-upper, but now the wife is pregnant with baby #4 and we really need a van.. just seems you cant fit 6 people into a 4 or 5 seater
THE GOOD:
Engine runs great, with no lifter tapping at all.
Transmission shifts into all 5 gears without any problems.
CV-Joints work perfectly, no popping in corners.
Turbo spools like it should, and will snap your neck back if your get on it hard.
All glass is good, no cracks, none broken.
3-way adjustable suspension works as it should.
THE BAD:
Only MAJOR problem with the car is the cluch is shot... other than that it runs and drives great.
Interior is torn up.. its the old ford leather that cracks and looks like crap if it isnt take care of, and the prior owner didnt.
Stereo and door speakers were stolen out of the vehicle, (I left the window cracked one summer night), but all the wiring is still there to put new ones in.
Drivers front fender is dented from prior owner backing into a tree.. but door has been fixed.
Front bumber passenger side is cracked and broken, but is still on the car.
Stereo antenna is broken (lays down against the car) and doesnt automatically retract into the car.
I've spent all day trying to find the title for the vehicle, but have been unable to do so, I will be getting a release of interest for the car (basically the same thing as a signed title) for whoever purchases the vehicle. I will need to contact prior owner to get the notorized signature to do so (should NOT take more than a day or two.)
If your looking at this vehicle as a parts car, mechanically its usable on all 1989-1992 Ford Probe GT's, but the 1989 Ford Probe GT's had a diffrent body style.
It's a fun little car that has a big trunk, lots of power for its size, and lots of life left in it.. I just need a bigger car or I'd fix and keep it myself.
Autozone qouted the parts to fix the cluch at a little under $175, and if you can do the work yourself you'll have a good running A-B car for under $500! I'll also include a Chiltons repair manual for the vehicle. Also I have photo's of the vehicle, and some of the inside, but I dont have a way to host them online, so if you want to see them I can email them.
