A lot of members have sent me info on this guy.
I'm anchoring this here as a first step in helping each other out in avoiding scammers and identifying known ones.
For now, be aware of the formerly known Gt-addict guy, who has had multiple screen names here, on Performance-Probe, and mx-6.com
On PT:
Gt-addict
magnaflowsystem
96kl
On mx6.com
klze93419
On PP:
Gt-addict
Myfast93
Typically operates out of Sandusky, OH. Has gone by names of Jose Puentes, Jose Rafael Valdez. Will update when more info comes up.
Usually spends a little time buying cheap ($5-30) items to build up a positive rep, then the scams start. Requests payment as gift so you have no Paypal recourse. Works hard at maintaining positive rep, but has frequent 'family issues' that prevent him from shipping parts.
His latest paypal email address was kweaver788@aol.com
May have other current working PT user names, so take the following steps:
1) DO NOT SEND ANY PAYMENT AS A GIFT - this is especially true if the seller REQUESTS a gift payment. This is the #1 red flag of a scammer.
2) File a paypal claim if item is not shipped within 15 business days unless you have a prior agreement. Be wary of continuous excuses.
3) If a seller sells parts exclusively through Private Messages that's a good sign it's a previously banned member or scammer trying to conceal their location/contact info
