  • using carbon fiber sheets

has anyone tried to carbon fiber their moonroof? seen some online sites where you can buy pieces of it and in different colors. would be an easy mod since the moonroof is just flat. however, buying a cf moonroof from groundedconceptz would be that much better if you have the cash

I used the cf decal type on my PA projectors kit....it wasn't hard to do and you know that the molding is quite curvy so I would guess that the moonroof would be a bit easy. Just make sure everything is crisp, no bubbles if you are using the sticker kind, or if you want the cloth type make sure you can have it stick right to the edges....thats my two cents
my email address is NOT and needs to be updated

do a search for CF gas cap (it might be in the archive too) and you could probably follow those instructions just on a litte larger scale

btw its true CF, not sticker kind

Yea but they have carbon overlay with the option for 3M backing that makes it a peel and stick.

By the way, adding carbon fiber won't making your car any lighter.

An overlay of CF Real or fake is going to be stupid. You want a CF moonroof? pull the moonroof out, make a mold out of fiberglass, and then lay and resin REAL carbon, or if thats too much work than just buy one

What's not available? There's a buy going on right now for CF moonroofs. $300 bux.
