I am currently looking into this car as it is right by my house. It has a couple of issues mechanically I am trying to firgure out before and if I buy it - check engine light/air bag light and smoky exhaust that smells like gas upon start up that never fully goes away. The car is a very nice two owner car, but there is an accident in its history from 2003. It has a clear title as there was no structural damage or air bag deployment. Based on my going over the car, the passenger rear fender appears to have had paintwork at one time due to the orange peel effect under the lip being different than the driver's side. You cannot tell otherwise, and the original owner drove it another 6 years after the accident, so it must have been fixed okay. It has a Pioneer stereo in it with CD changer mounted in the trunk, but the faceplate for the radio is missing. A couple of dings here and there as well as some scratches on the rear bumper. All l electronics work as well as heat and A/C. Yes, it has the slow automatic in it.

yeah that kid with the 2nd gen was sort of a jag,he told me he had brand new ze heads and cams but didnt have them where he had the car so i coulldnt see them i was mostly interested in the mtx for a swap the engine was just a bonus but without it running i wasnt go give him $1000

I did notice the majority of Probes I find all have well over 100K on them with more like 150K being the norm. That red 96 looks pretty nice except for the tan carpet, and I bet the seats don't look that great. If the paint is still shiny, and it runs well, it'd be a nice little car. He took those pictures on a cloudy day. I bet that car looks more orange in person. And yes, all the low mileage ones I find seem to be automatic. Maybe they are afraid to drive them for fear of transmission failure or that they are not as much fun? LOL
