  • MAS Prepared!

Alright, well now it's feeling more like a racing weekend is ahead....just picked up a set of FD rims (the light PFD ones) wrapped in BFG Comp T/A R1 gumballs - although the Franken-motor won't be powering the blue beast, at least this way I can try staying on the track and not go off-roading. And thanks to Tony, I've got some decent brake pads now that won't make me soil myself after the 4th corner (KVR carbon fiber).

The BAPOC 2-car caravan is leaving Wednesday morning, to arrive at MAS Friday night after a layover in Denver.

To quote Oakland's very own Bubb Rubb, "woop-woop!"

          tell me about it.

i just replaced my front rotors. they were gone. nice big groove in them and they were warped, so i replaced them with some cross-drilled brembos from stillen (only because they were close - sorry mike) and some porterfield r4s pads front/rear. seated them this evening.

also changed the 3-year old gear oil that i had, replaced with 3 quarts of MTL. an oil change is going to be done before i leave as well as a tire rotation/balance and alignment.

ProbeTalk is BACK! Once again, it's what you use the Internet for!

          Let's get DANGEROUS!

Brake pads wear out THAT fast? I swear I've only used one set on my blue GT in the past 3 years.....damn racing - see, this woulda never happened if you would have just let go on living my life one quarter mile at a time

The other caliper was fine - Tony taxi'd me around in the morning so I could get a spare (from an SE, no less )and then dropped me off at the track - Kristen had to scoot to make sure she got to work on time, and Tony went with her (thanks for the rides, yoh! ) - I finished at the track around 5pm and then left. Now, a day later, I am home. yay.

They did really well, I was happy with them. I wasnt as hard on the brakes as I could/should have been since I'd only been driving a stick for a little over a month at that point, and the vehicle weight makes it a little easier on the brakes, but they did withstand some pretty hard repeated braking... like going into turn #1.

Hopefully rx7 4 piston calipers are in the future...
