  • Oil Pumps

So i just got my motor and everything put together and i have been reading that the stock oil pumps shut down. So what kind of pump should i get for my new motor?

I thought the oil pumps in KLZE engines last a long time?

Unless you are revving over 8K you shouldn't have any problems. They are pretty much problem free. Hell, I still have very good oil pressure on my motor and I hit 6500 rpm several times every day and I have beat the crap out of the motor. All this on the car in my sig.

I wouldn't worry about it but if you really want more pressure, search for shimming the stock pump.

Don't even think about a Toga oil pump.

the ZE and DE pumps are the same! As mentioned..no 8k+, no problems..

          no 9k+, no care...

Has links to aftermarket oil pumps.
I guess you only need a aftermarket pump if your going 9k RPMs and up.

If your going to 9k RPMs I take it that you have colt cams, strong aftermarket springs and retainers?

If you are concerned with your pump...got ot mazda and buy yourself a 200 dollar insurance policy...AKA a new pump. I spin myn to 8k under boost and with about 4k miles of racing its been fine.

Alright guys thanks for the help, the motor only has 800 miles on it so i know the pump is good cause its brand new but the guage still reads really low, it has been reading low since o bought the car and before i built the motor. So i think my sending unit is out.

you're fine. just shim your pump valve and use a corvette filter.
