  • Injector Part Numbers

So I've decided to do a full on build instead of boosting a stock de. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if rx7 injectors( PN N32613250, 195500-1350, 54212168. from http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/fuel-injectors/mazda) will fit in stock KL rails using 929 caps and plugs?? Any help would be awesome.

I was looking around the net for rx7 injectors and this site came up in the search. Just not sure if they are the same 550cc rx7 injectors that have been mentioned on pt before. Like in this pic I found http://s1227.photobucket.com/user/mr...ctors.jpg.html

I dont see anything different about them, except for the Cosmo.

The only thing that concerns me is that the injectors from http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/fuel-injectors/mazda look to be taller from the red plastic to the top of the injector whereas the ones in the photobucket pic seem to be shorter. The fiveomotorsport ones say they are for a 1986-1988 rx7. Are there only certain years of rx7 injectors that will fit or does it matter what year as long as they are the cc that is being looked for??

You have basically 7 choices of injectors that will fit in the stock rails without boring.

              1) stock blue tops (220cc @ 2.25 bar -I think)

              2) Red Top Millenia "S" injectors (285cc @ 2.25 bar for part number 2701 and slightly less for 2700's)

              3) Green top 929 (285cc @ 2.25 bar and 333cc @ 3 bar)

              4) Purple top RX7 Primaries (550cc @ 2.25 bar)

              5) Red top Cosmo injectors (550cc @ 2.25 bar)

              6) Light blue top -unknown origin (650cc @ 2.25 bar)

              7) Maroon top RX7 Secondaries (850cc @ 2.25 bar)

The red top cosmos are the exact same injectors as the purple top RX7's with one minor difference. They have an aluminum spray orifice crimped onto the ends instead of the typical plastic caps. I cut the aluminum ends off with a special jig in my lathe and had them cleaned and plastic caps put on -and they are now identical to the RX7 ones except for the color. I went that route because it is easier to find somewhat cheap -new Cosmo injectors vs RX7 primaries. And I wanted new ones.

Both the Cosmo and RX7 primary injectors require a 1.1" thick washer to go between the cap and rail, some special size O-rings (to use as a preload spring to press the injector up against the cap) and the wiring pigtails.

RX7 Secondaries and Mazda 929 injectors only need the pigtails.

I have never seen a set of the 650 injectors other than a rare photo of them. I do not know what car they were put into. But I do know they do exist -because I have seen a photo of them. They are ultra rare and you would be very lucky to get your hands on a set.

Thank you BT BOB, I ended up buying the injectors/rails etc. Saved me a ton of headache looking for RX7 injectors.
