I think I remember Maas saying that only the auto trans would fit but dont remember why. You think you could have got a manual to go with that motor?
I had the R154 Tranny all mounted up in the car, ready to make the tranny mount. It fit like a glove. Not sure if anything would have gotten in the way, like the starter, cause I didn't have one here to test fit, but it looked pretty promising. If I was going to keep the car, I would definately look into a Tremec TKO 600 tranny, but after I complete the project, I will probably pass it on to someone that wants to fix the exterior and have one of the badest 2nd gens ever! Ha Ha

I will try to get some shots of the rear end now, while I have a couple minutes. If everything wasnt packed away in the garage I would take a few pics of the motor, lookin all purty!

It doesn't have anything back there right now. I think Matt had a Wilwood setup, and I will probably go a similar route, whatever I can find decently cheap for the nine inch....

Wait a minute that car looks so familiar didnt that car have a supra motor in it at one time? Thats is a good setup on the rear i was thinking that what could have been done to it just like how it done on a mustang or something. Well another thing man there was a show about the Ls engine swaps and the best bang for the buck and how to get it tuned and what not. It was on the speed channel maybe you can look up the show and ask questions with your build and the cheapest route ive been leaning towards the ls engine versus the cobra engine since the price's are very different but then they had a show on a cobra swap so im not sure which one id do when the time comes. And for 1500 on the chassis thats awesome id pay that for it in a heart beat darn.

Yeah Matt must have just wanted to get rid of it, because he has A TON of time into this car. Yes it did have the 2jz in it. I already know everything that i need to get for the swap, and I am in the learning stages of learning how to tune with HPtuners. I spend a good amount of time on ls1tech.com, and I know a lot of the guys around town that do these swaps, so I am definately not short on knowledge, ha ha.

I want to hit mid 9's with the car, probably somewhere around 145mph, and I am hoping 600-650whp will do it. Should be a fun ride!

my guess is right around 2700lbs. I don't plan on making it any lighter than it is, but there are things that could be done, all the windows are still functional, and still original glass, hatch could be CF, doesn't need the passenger seat.... that sort of stuff. I think Matt said it was somewhere around 2650 with the 2jz, and I wouldn't think this motor weighs too much more than that, 50-100lbs I would guess....
