Okay, so it's not a ZE, it has KL-101 and KL-1A1. As long as it works and I can drive my car again, I'll be a happy camper. Plus it gives me practice to installing the real thing later.

You can still have the kl01 heads and cams with the curve neck, but it's very possible to have the high compression pistons. It's been said on here before, but by the stamping number on the throttle body it should tell you if it has them or not. Sorry I can't remember the correct number, but I'm sure someone else who knows will chime in.
The curve neck ZE with kl01 heads and cams are pretty common motors but any that I've seen have the high compression pistons in them. I have one currently in my car, one on an engine stand and the original one that was in my car. But are usually pretty clean.

Then there is still the issue of bringing the car to me to do the swap.

I noticed that the rear head was a lot cleaner than the front head.

the head issue is kind of normal. probably VCG or maybe the grommet on the PCV isn't sealing properly.
where's the car now? heh, i should take my probe up there so i can swap out my rack without any issues from my overlord. just waiting on getting it from napa.ProbeTalk is BACK! Once again, it's what you use the Internet for!

I got the engine all cleaned up and I changed the water pump and timing belt. Was easier than I thought.

yeah, the water pump and timing belt are pretty easy to do, especially with the engine out of the car.

Okay, so I just noticed that the timing belt kit I got was the different size water pump shaft. My question is do I need to get another water pump or can I just get the correct sized pulley?
Thanks for any input1994 Coral Mist Metallic PGT

Looks real nice, good f.... Work man.
U don't want a full ze engine.anyway, their heads are trash and known for.dropping.valves!!!!
Besides zes are.overrated, cams are all u need from them
I had a de wit ze cams and my boy had a real ze and we raced.our probes, same clutch setup, and he pulled.by seriously the width of a finger, LOL, if that and I missed a shift, clutch was still new, if I.had nailed that shift I would have pulled

i'm curious. what size shaft did the pump have eric? 32mm? i wound up having to replace my pump not too long before i shut the car down. place gave me the 32mm shaft. i was lucky though, because my mx-6 had that size and i had kept the pulley.
i still have my 16mm though. the new rack i bought actually came with the rubber bushing for the mounting clamp. sweet.ProbeTalk is BACK! Once again, it's what you use the Internet for!

The engine had the 32mm and the timing kit had the 16mm.
I went to one junk yard a found nothing. I think it's going to be harder to find parts at the junk yard for probes.1994 Coral Mist Metallic PGT
