  • Any reason this might not work?

I pulled an EGR Boost Sensor today. Let me start by saying that I have learned my lesson about trying to pull these vacuum lines off. I will cut them off from here on out. I broke the fitting off the sensor trying to pull the line off.

I did a home repair because it was the only one I could find in two different Pick A Parts. Does anyone see any potential problems in this repair?

I used Super Glue Gel to attach the fitting. I used the nail to make sure the hole didn't clog with glue. I put glue around the hole, then up the sides of the fitting.

    This is the Break.

I applied generous Super Glue on the sides up to the electrical tape and then removed the tape before it dried. The taped helped me "cake" on the glue.

I then used Loctite plastic epoxy over the glue and put the line on.

Then I epoxied over the fitting again and onto the tube.

Here is the finished product. I attached a fitting at the other end of the tube so I don't have to mess with the repaired end again. The epoxy is as hard as a rock.

    Your thoughts?

Look fine to me, probably wont last another 100,000 miles or anything, but should get you by. At least until you can redo the lines or find another sensor.

Thanks for thr feedback everyone. I haven't had the chance to put it in yet. I am keeping the car at another location and haven't had a chance to get over to it. Planning on putting it in this weekend.
