  • 2.0 automatic interchange question

Hey everyone, I have a 95 probe with an auto transmission. Tranny is slipping pretty bad, and needs to be changed.

Problem is there are zero probes/mx6 remaining in my area. Someone has a 2001 protege 2.0l auto transmission. It looks the same. I'm wondering, will the protege tranny work in my probe?

Bump it up to top. Don't wanna scrap the probe.

The automatic from the 2.0L 93-95 Mazda 626 and MX-6 will work. There are plenty of 626 motors and transmissions here in my area. I am not sure about the 96-01 626 and the later FS-DE powered Proteges. Physically they should bolt up no problem. The difference, if any, will be in the sensors and controllers for the ECU.

Thanks for reply. I really wish there were still these cars kicking around my area. I've been searching for a long time and just can't find em. I'm almost certain that it will work, I'm just concerned of the sensors as well.
