the 98+ 626 rear brakes work with the factory ebrake cable from the probe, Mono is pretty sure that the 626 ebrake cables will work with mazda6 rear brakes

Last I heard Zepticon was thinking on trying the cables on his MS6 brakes, but he needs the e-brake mounting for them on them in order to try first "/

He's has those for a few months. I was gonna source him some, but he got back to me that he had already found them.

                • I'm running the Mazda Speed6 rotors/bracket/calipers/pads up front and 98+ 626 rotors/brackets in back on my 24 hrs of LeMons/Chumpcar '93 626. I'll be moving this setup to the '94 Prode SE I bought later this year.

One set of Hawk DTC-60 pads have lasted 3 full races in the Speed6 calipers to date. I doubt I will get another full race out of them. But, that's much better than the single race I was getting from the original rotors/calipers.

                  • Hardest part to find was the Mazda Speed6 brackets. I ended up buy those direct from the dealer. They were the most expensive parts.

                    • I also used the 626 flex brake lines. The fit is kinda tight. But they work.

                      • Yea, using your original lines are best. The 6 ones can be used, but dont fit as nicely, and the mounting spots are a little off.

                          • 98+ Brake cables on MS6 rear brakes

So, i tested the hypothesis that the 98+ rear e-brake cables will fit the rear brakes on the 626/probe/MX6, and they do. But thats a very close call.
I would say it is not the ideal solution, but at the time i think it is good enough to drive with. Hopefully i will get a bit more length when i lower the car down from the stands.

I am going to research if there are any longer cables available than the 98+ ones, for more wiggleroom.
