  • escort strut mounts

I installed a set of escort strut mounts on my car about a week ago

I did everything like normal drilled the hole out a bit to fit

I noticed when i turn the wheel eaither way that the mounts themselves (middle part so to speak) buldges out when yiur turn the wheel...not like anythings loose almost like the middle bolt is too tight? I might be able to take a video of it later today or maybe its not even a problem and suppose to do that just seems out of the ordinary

    Anyone have any input?

well it is a rubber mount... its gunna flex... i noticed the same thing when I lowered the car down to the ground off the jack and watched it flex.. do you get the clunking when turning your wheel when stopped? Mine is the spring hat actually rubbing the strut tower on the inside...

The escort was a lighter car with comfort in mind when they designed the strut mounts. They will be softer than the pgt mounts and thus this deflection. If you are going to run these mounts I would have gotten the ones from the egt because they are a little stiffer.

Can't remember what the torque setting was on the center nut, but it's at least 50-60

Just make sure that the plastic donut bearing under the mount is fitted OK and has good grease inside it
