I've now updated both the BB wording and the site to make that clear. (Anyone who wants to take their name off the list with this change, let me know...)

We'll be building more MSPNPs than needed to cover the initial order - if we get another 2 people on board, this is becoming a regular production item. You'll be able to order it out of the catalog, and there will be enough in stock to cover other orders. So if someone flakes out and doesn't follow through with an order immediately, the deposit will still be good if they want to take their time and order another month, or even another year, later. And the MSPNP originally built for that buyer would probably already have been sold to someone else at full retail price, so it's not like we're going to be too mad over it.
So this means that if i put my name on the list, pay the 300USD deposit, but when its done and i am broke as a church rat, i can complete my part of the buy the next month, or the month after that, and still get the groupbuy price?

Also, have you considered to offer this with a "VAF delete Kit"? I have heard that it eats anything form 10 to 20whp. I know you have the GM MAP sensor in your shop, and pigtails, but i would love a "connect this here, solder that, bolt this on to that and use this tune" guide
Or perhaps some of the members will make some sort of walkthrough=)

Correct. The deposit will reserve you one at the discounted pricing, and you can pay the balance of it and take delivery whenever you wish.

We have a GM IAT sensor / extra long wires / mounting bung kit that is sold separately and will have notes on how to connect it provided with the install guide. It will be similar to the notes in our other install guides like this one:

I have a MS'd mx6 right now, and im not exactly happy with it. It could be the unit/tune/just me not liking it, but i know it ran much more reliably on the stock ecu and FMU.
(sorry if this is not the place to ask questions, if so lead me there...)
First off, it will not meet Federal emissions laws, so it's not sold for street use on cars that have to meet emissions laws. Also, some details of your question can only really be answered once one is built and tuned.

Hypothetically, if one were to take a relatively stock KLDE and put it in some 1950s era street rod and use it as a daily driver - it may not fire up quite as fast as a stock ECU, but probably wouldn't take twice as long, either. It would be about as smooth once it got going. The thing is - if you put it on a heavily modified turbo KLDE with massive injectors, and tuned it for that, you'd have the exact same results - starting that may not be quite like stock but still good, and relatively smooth drivability.

We have a Nissan race car in here for MSPNP testing right now. It has a little more than double the stock injector size and a turbo that you could fit a grapefruit into the inlet. The owner brought it in running on a stock ECU that had an off the shelf chip that was supposed to match his settings, and a Super AFC to fine tune it. Starting it with that combo is quite a chore - it doesn't want to fire up, needs you to just about floor it to keep it from dying when it does start, and it's nearly undrivable until it warms up. On the MegaSquirt, it fires right up.

Bottom line, it's a race ECU; it may have a few rough edges compared to a stock unit. But it will run better and more smoothly than a stock uniton a highly modified engine.

Done! We'll need the first $300 once the test car arrives, which should be shortly after the end of the sign up period (first week of March).

Slight change in plans. There's enough info about these cars from DIYPNPs that it looks like we can order the boards as soon as the group buy closes, March 1st. Collecting the deposits at the close of the group buy will let us get this going sooner
