As i mentioned earlier, all the skirts were cracked, chipped or missing parts. I was just creative with hiding some of it. The car had been in a bad accident prior to me getting it and so the back end wasn't quite right. The side fender had been punched in from someone backing into me and was rusting out, as well as the underside and frame. I had the car on stands a few months ago and the jack stand went through the support point and into the body. It was rusted and dying.

I pulled a pile of stuff off the car... Everything I could use on my new probe and what i didn't pull was either broken, worn, or not wanted by anyone local, so not a major part to be had by anyone. I didn't have the ability to tear the entire car down for parts and ship them around. This is in front of my parent's house and they really don't want a parts car sitting there for long, not to mention that the bylaw officer could write me a huge fine on the spot for the car being there.

I do wish i had the space to keep it and part it out fully, but alas, it was not meant to be.

Also we BCPOCers have parted out a few Probes lately, so all of our shopping and wish lists have grown much shorter. There were several local POC boys out helping dismantle her, so she did get adequately scavenged I believe. We're kinda like a pack of hyenas over a fresh kill.

The Probe is a dying breed. Hopefully through communities like this one we can keep them around for a long, long time. However, we can't condemn anyone for buying a car simply to keep theirs going... he got what he wanted did what he could, and I'm glad another car will be better for it!

Sad to see another one go to the crusher but can't wait to see some pictures of the "good" car!

The one part we should make sure we always pull is that steering rack when there's nothing in front of it to keep it from popping out easily. A working rack is better than one that's not.

Plus the clutch/brake pedal assembly and master cylinders and shifter set up. Comes in handy for those people who want to switch to standard.

I thought of pulling the rack out too and talked it out with a few POC guys here but because the car had seen some rough curb hits we opted to let it go thinking that the rack had seen enough abuse (there was quite a bit of wander and slack in the steering system that wasn't tie-rods)

The only thing i didn't pull was the master, kinda forgot that one, but the shifter assembly came out for sure (has my RR Racing STS!) and the slave is on the shelf in the garage.

I did pull the harness out. and no i didn't burn the outer jackets. I kept the harness so i can make a squirt specific harness later on, or repair connections on the harness in my current car.
