Well you're lucky enough to have one in your backyard... Question. Have either of you been down an 1/8th? You do realize its only one less gear, right?
Fact of the matter is all you HAVE to do is run your 60' and putt the rest of the track. You'll EASILY get 15+ runs in one night up there.
Yeah Hiney, I have run at Skyview a few times, years back. It was ok, but it's especially less enjoyable when you have a quarter mile car. I do get where you're coming from, though.
Who knows, maybe I'll get up there once or twice this year before the end of the season for shits 'n grins. Let me know if you're going at any point.
My problem, as far as availability goes, is that the wedding is obviously next week, with the honeymoon following that. Then, I'm home for a short time in early October, at which point I disappear Oct 10th through the 26th for work. I'm home for a couple days, then leave again on the 29th for Hawaii (again for work). Idk when they stop running at Skyview, but I wouldn't be back until Nov 5th.

I meant that if you had to pick between 1/4 and 1/8 mile, my car is a 1/4 mile car. As far as getting enough runs in, I ran plenty last time I was at ESTA. Of course there ARE times when it's packed and you don't get as many runs in...Usually I get more than my fill, though.
^Agreed. Was, though. My car WAS slow at the 60'. Not anymore. Haha
I gotta admit though, it's kinda fun being slower in the 60', then just decimating your opponent the rest of the track...lol
However, assuming the car holds together, setting my launch point for 6500 RPM at the track will be the sweet spot. I was NEVER slow launching at 5500 on the street, but the track was just too sticky that day for a 5500 RPM launch.

I keep going back to even if you get the track dialed in at Skyview there's nothing guarenteeing you won't be in for just as much work the next time out at a different track. All that work for nothing.
^This is also true. Every track is different. And to ANYONE who says it doesn't matter or they're all the same, I say you're full of sh*t! lol
Fluke or not, I just happened to launch great and cut 1.7-1.8 second 60' times my first couple times EVER at Empire, when I struggle to get below a 2.1 at ESTA after dozens of runs.
You know there's something off with a track when you can drive the hell out of your car on the street, and on other tracks, but yet seem to have a problem with ONE particular track...

I know, we definitely do! I think I told you before, but now that I've grenaded a trans I am a bit gunshy. And if I'm going so far as to tow it out there, I might as well run my sticky tires. Haha
I just don't know *when* I'll be able to get free again this year.

Empire runs for at least a few more weeks... and tonight is the last "Wednesday night program."
Crazy enough, almost none of those dates would work for me. This weekend, out. Next weekend, wedding and getting ready for honeymoon. Gone until the end of the month. Then, gone from Oct 10th through the 26th.
The only date that works for me is Oct 5th. What's your schedule like, Ant?
