I've heard good things about the AVIC from years ago but I'm not really that familiar with double-din units at all. Seems like it has everything I'd want out of a unit though. Interesting, it can play FLAC files. One thing I liked about a Pioneer I used in the past was that Auto EQ feature that uses a microphone you position in each seat to automatically tune the headunit. It worked fairly well when I tried it.

Then again, if you're using it for NAV then I'm not sure what to suggest. I rarely travel abroad in my car needing directions and even then I just pull up Waze on my phone.

Yea I could do without the nav definately. I use my phone for all that junk.

Decided that I needed to just gut the stereo in the viper and start over. Was browsing Crutchfield and about to order a set of alpine components when I saw they were having a sale on a lot of their focal stuff. Called them up and spoke with a rep and ordered a set last night.

Now I have to find an amp that will do the components and a sub (80rms/160max and 150rms/300max) without being way overpowered.

Yea that's my issue is the size of everything. I called up crutchfield and ended up going being recommended the little brother of the one you are using. Seems like a quality unit and if I can power everything off of it all the better

Cut up one of my door panels over the weekend. Ordered some material to redo the fabric on them since I have to cut open the hole larger. Hopefully I can get one mocked up this week and see what it looks like. I forgot just how time consuming this was!

There hasn't been a "party" in here for like 15 years.

Not much here, funeral this past weekend and drove up to Clemson the week before. Next weekend traveling to Charlotte. Anything worth doing up there? Never been except for plane flights.

No party here either. In Orlando for a few days tagging along for a trade show. Florida sucks Heading to Iceland for a day on my way back to Germany though so I am psyched for that on Sunday.
