okay, the voting was close, but by a 9 to 7 margin, we're eating americana. that means:

Price is typically $7.99 a person, but there are plenty of tables so we can sit together as a group. Since the drive will be long, we can go back to the hotel, clean up, then head on out. After dinner, we can hit a supermarket or liquor store for our late night needs.

the scpoc annual end of summer meet in san diego is happening august 21-22, 2004. if you have not been on this ride in the past, you are in for a wonderful ride and a great time. for those who have attended previous incarnations of this event (CaPOC, Twist-O-Rama), then you will again have a lot of fun on the winding roads in the san diego mountains.

the first day features a long, winding run through the san diego mountains and it begins at the olympic training center located in chula vista.

the second day features a beach bbq and a day of sun, fun, and relaxation.

the chosen hotel for this event is the Motel 6 in chula vista. it's located at:

this is also going to be the MEETING point for the drive. we plan on beginning the drive at 10am, so please be at the hotel by 9:30am. the drive will last anywhere from 3-4 hours, then we will return to the hotel to freshen up and head out to dinner at HomeTown Buffet, also located in chula vista:

cost for HTB is roughly $8-9. HTB features 'Americana' cuisine and is All-You-Can-Eat. there are no reservations required and they should have more than enough space to accomodate our group. after dinner, we will return to the hotel for whatever the night has in store.

day two will feature a bbq at fiesta island. local attendees are encouraged to help out and bring a bbq or two for us to use. anyone brining food and drinks, please be courteous and have enough for the entire group, unless there are dietary restrictions for you.
