  • Dueces I never saw you post in here before. When did you make your final payment?

Oh wait I don;t see your name on anything so apparently you didn't. So why are you commenting on how WE (payers) should feel or for that matter commenting at all in this thread?

    • Like I said, I was out about $800 for the LSD that I ordered. I AM in the same boat, but at least you have someone who is responsive, respectful, and very caring about the probe, mx6 community. I ordered my lsd on jan. 8th of 2005, so I've been out for just as long as you.

I'm not calling you a dick or anything like that, but your not in the worst case senerio here!

I actually was going to join in on this BB, but I found it easier to do everything myself, since I have the ability. And I must have posted in here, because I keep getting updates in my email, but that is besides the point. I just think people should respect him for working as hard as he has. He could have quit long ago, but he wanted to get everyone the best parts that they could.

      • your $800 is less than half of what i'm out of......plus this is not an lsd thread.

You made the right choice not to join and made your own.

        • Well brett and others... once you go from prototype to actually producting a product... put more talk in here. Has it been a long time.. yes could things have been run a bit better but he really is working.. Many other companies have gotten overwhelmed and just run away with all the money.

Are you guys frustrated yes, however, bashes against this guy are unreasonable, and just not fair.

            • Actually I'm going to run through my expenses and then maybe everyone will see why its jacks me off.

              sc kit : 1750
              pump: 100
              MS: 350
              laptop: 600

              gauges: 150
              __________
              total $3215!!!!!!

I would have never bought any of this had I not ordered the kit. thus it would have saved me $3215 and countless hours of installation and set-up.

A lot of time and money for a college student.

I needed to get that out. I'm good now and I'm going to bed.

              • That's okay guys; if people want to let out their anger, bash, what ever.. it's cool. I owe a lot of people a lot of stuff, so I can understand and appreciate what they have to say; even by just saying a few random smart ass things, they really are being patient with everything. That patience, I can not stress enough of how much I do apprecate.

I just got 'net access again today; i Had used the library/lab computer a couple of times in the past 10 or so days that I've been out of access.

So here's the scoop - for those in, and not in.

The Alternater pulleys have been made, paid for and obtained. I actually did this quite some time ago - November or December.

The Shims for the shaft were made up - this is the main vibration issue that Mike Chavez (Mac1) found after putting about 4,000 Miles on his setup. These were also made a while ago, and I had picked 'em up roughly a month ago.

The new Rods are done; I had to overhaul *EVERYTHING* to make the new shaft stuff work correctly. Those have been done for few weeks, monday I can afford to pick 'em up.

Lastly; The drive and driven pulleys, which mount to the transfershaft had to be remade in order to fit correctly with the new system. These are also done, but it will be another 2-3 weeks before I can afford to obtain them.

I don't know if I have the money to anodize them though; they are a good grade of aluminum and are silvery anyhow. If I can conjure another $150 to anodize them, I will; they would be paisely.. er crimson, like the others. Hehe.

For *MOST* people, this will even you up. A hand full of you still need superchargers, fans for the MX6 or any other misc items that we had worked out with one another such as modded rails and nissan injectors, or what not.

So that's pretty much where we are right now. I'll be sending this out in an email soon here, give me a day or two; along with some other misc info I'll be adding in there.

Thanks again everyone for being so patient and working with me on this, you really don't know how much I apprecate it. You also have no clue how releaved I'll be to have evened up with my debts to you. I would *LOVE* to sleep well, and have enough time, money and motivation to go out with a lady now and then. hehehe. Let alone have money and time to fix my own damned car. The Probe I made the kit on, that's all over the mr.speed website hasn't been driven in nearly a year. Automatic transaxle Escorts are so NOT fun to drive daily. =)

                  • I honnestly have good faith in Pat. He has always been in communication and is doing the best he can. I don't consider my expense on this kit as a loss as i know he will pull through. Even if it takes a bit of time. Just look a the BB on K-sports... that went on forever, but everyone finally did get them. We just have to be a bit more patient. It's frusting to wait over a year for this, but it's better then loosing everything like other vendors have done.

                      • Update on rods and such.

I was able to obtain the rods recently, so this leaves only pulleys left for purchase; then I can finish completing most everyone; except the couple of you that I owe blowers to still and MX6 radiator fans. phew!

So, here's a little teaser of an update for everyone since I'm sure everyone wants to know exactly what's up and what's

                        changed.

                        *********************************

                        http://mrspeed.biz/images/rodupdate-rods.jpg

The upper rod is the first one. The first shop I worked with ended up not giving me exactly what I wanted; this resulted in a lot of trouble, time, huge money wasted, and also including that it was not the drive-shaft grade that I spefically ordered and paid for. If you look under the bearing at the top, you'll see some white - this is a Rylon bushing used between the rod and bearing. The new design uses an interance/compression fit. The advantage of Rylon is that if the bearing goes, this compound will act like a bearing. This shit is seriously expensive, esp to have cut to a custom size. ESP more so when it will not even be used!! Rylon is also good, and was primarly used because if their is any shaft misalignment it is pliable enough to work with things and will isolate engine harmonics (pistons, crankshaft, etc) from direction transfering their presence to the Rod. Although it's a great way to engineer away from potential problems, I think I may have tried to build it to far past realistic problems and it it self cuases a slight problem because the material directly under the beaing is a point of stress that's higher than most other points in the rod, so logically, a thicker amount of material is ideal here. Also by having everything intferance fit now, it doesn't require funky shaft collars and other 'ways' to isolate and secure the rod and bearings.

                        ------------------------

Another shot to highlight the width of these.

                        ------------------------

                        http://mrspeed.biz/images/rodupdate-shafts.jpg

Upper is the new rod, complete.
Lower is the old rod, complete.

Notice on the larger pulley end, that on the new rod their is less thread sticking out. This will allow for better clearances; the clearance wasn't an issue before, but, it's better to have less sticking out anyhow - right? Also notice that all of the unattractive shaft collars are no longer present. Tac welding these into spot is part of what caused the original shaft to fatique under load; All of the weak spots have been addressed, even those that never showed up in a working car yet.

                        ------------------------

Close up of the end that is the 'drive end', which is directly spun by the crank shaft belt.

                        ------------------------

                        http://mrspeed.biz/images/rodupdate-driven-end.jpg

Close up of the end that is the 'driven end', which is the end that spins the blower.

                        ------------------------

                        http://mrspeed.biz/images/rodupdate-pulleys.jpg

Last image! The top (silver) is the new pulleys, the shop was kind enough to 'loan' me a set. hehe. Notice that the overall bore is smaller in the silver pulley? This is because these are sized specifically for this shaft; the anodized red ones are actually for a vortech supercharger which uses an odd .781" fit, which required the custom cut shims as seen below.

                        ------------------------

Shaft assembly of the 'old' units would take about four hours, and I'd typically go through 6 or 7 bearings before I got a set that I was comfortable with. This way really did NOT work! The new system takes all of 15 minutes for a complete assembly. The bearings this way, are also perfect every time! I'm very careful and anal when it comes to installing bearings, esp those that are press fit. This is a HUGE make it or break it of the entire shaft assembly.

Well, we are still and lastly waiting for me to get a few more $duckies$ so I can get more than the two 'loaner' pulleys in my hands. Then.. it's time to ship! I will email most of you today or tomorrow to verrify parts list, address, etc. My old computer had crashed so I have only a few peoples information still.

Thanks again everyone, you have been hugely patient through this and I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to finish what I started on!

Yours is the very next one the list, if that helps with the time frame any.
