  • If I wind up getting into this house with the gargantuan garage, I'll have something to do whilst I wait for the snow to melt.

        • Kinda, we weren't really looking. But 3 full, LARGE bays... hard to pass up. Plus it's a good deal. And we'd be paying less to own.

in monthly payments anyways. i was psyched when our payment was almost 100 less than our rent was....month and a half and a 2200 dollar septic pump job later...haha

there are pro's and con's to both.

But why rent when a mortgage payment is going to be about the same per month. And you will actually own something. I just see rent as a lost cause because you never get ahead in the long run. I know cost of heating/water/taxes/toilet is more, But the satisfaction is always greater knowing you can do whatever you damn well please. Just like leasing a car or having payments on a car, you end up paying 2x what its worth and usually owe more than you can sell it for. But thats just my opinion.... I for one will never rent or have a car payment, but i guess thats just how i was raised.

P.S. Chris, check this link for those pics of the paint blemishes http://s793.photobucket.com/albums/y...Green%20Probe/ see those black lines that look like hair in the paint? Matt said the paint will probably start peeling soon

its like leasing vs buying a car. there's always people who feel one way is right and the other isnt. i had a house and the payment thing, personally I dont like the feeling of being tied down. now, if i was rich and could afford multiple houses that would be a different story.

crows feet. well that sucks, you have to take it bare metal usually. usually caused by shitty primer.

                      • Crows feet = teh sucks. Had 'em on Probezilla before I repainted it...took the hood down to metal to get rid of them. Then I ended up going with the sensei hood anyway.

Matt, I feel the same way about renting vs. owning. And c'mon Chris, we know you're all loaded! You're not fooling anyone!!

                        • yeah, i had them on my contour, not just the hood, but the top of the fenders, roof, top of the rear quarters and trunk lid. i had to do the same, take it all down to bare metal in those areas....factory paint and primer is thick!!(unless its a 90's chrysler/dodge)

                          loaded huh?!

                            • Thanks Chris. Its nice to see her brought up once in a while. I really did love that car.
I actually won her on ebay, used that ebay sniper and won the car by $1. She was mint, only 29k miles when I got her. paid $5k.

I would have loved to keep the car, but some electrical gremlin was causing the engine to constantly stall out. I must have replaced every electrical part I could think of. One mechanic had said the Wires to to the spark plugs were arcing on the inside wall. (but they were brand new), so I replaced them only to have it happen again. I could not figure it out, so 3 mechanics later and no fixed issue and no more money to waste on it....I sold it. So I left the car with about 60k miles and took $2500 for her.

                              • Guaranteed we could've figured it out Tony! Mechanics don't know sh*t about Probes...they look at them as if they'd never seen a car before.
